Bayou Bash 2024 Inshore Fishing Tournament Salinas Park | Cape San Blas May 3rd – May 4th, 2024
Bayou Bash 2024 is an inshore fishing tournament sponsored by the Swivel Sisters Women’s Fishing Club of Port St. Joe. The CASH payout categories are Red Fish, Spotted Trout, Flounder, and the ever-popular Inshore Slam – and this year, the MYSTERY FISH category is back! A scholarship program from Bayou Bash proceeds for a Gulf County student interested in further education in a water-related career.
Estuaries Day Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve Nature Center| Eastpoint May 3rd, 2024
Mark your calendars for Friday, May 3 from 1:30-5:30 pm as the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve (ANERR) celebrates National Estuaries Day. This free, fun and educational event features stations for kids and adults like the marine animal touch tanks, kid friendly nature-themed games and more. Attendees can also tour ANERR’s 5,400 square-foot Nature Center, an 80-foot-long mural depicting the area ecosystems, historical exhibits, and a hands-on Bay Discovery Room.
Historic Apalachicola Home & Garden Tour Trinity Episcopal Church | Apalachicola May 3rd – 5th, 2024
Now in its 30th year, this annual event hosted by Trinity Episcopal Church showcases some of the town’s most distinguished homes, both old and new. Seven homes, the City Square Community Garden, and Trinity Church are featured. An open-to-all silent auction, along with a jumble sale offering items at $25 or less, takes place on the church grounds. A choral Evensong, the traditional opening for the tour, occurs May 5, at 6PM. A reception in Gorrie Square follows the service.
Punch on the Porch Mexico Beach Visitor Center | Mexico Beach May 3rd, 2024

Tupelo Honey Festival 111 Lake Alice Park Drive | Wewahitchka May 18th, 2024
Under the great mossy oaks of Lake Alice, people come from all over the world to Wewahitchka, Florida to taste and take home the country’s finest Tupelo Honey. Food, fun, music…it’s all here, along with loads of small-town charm. Farmers from the area will have booths of honey at the festival in many different sizes and packages, accompanied by food vendors, art & crafts vendors, and live music right on the banks of Lake Alice.
May Sunset and Full Moon Climb The Pavilion at Watersound Town Center | Watersound Origins April 13th, 2024
The May Sunset and Full Moon Climb at the Cape St. George Lighthouse on St. George Island will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy the view of St. George Island, the Gulf of Mexico and the Apalachicola Bay under the evening sky from the top of the lighthouse. The Sunset and Full Moon Climb will begin at 8:00PM and run until 11:00PM.
