Apalachicola Oyster Cook-Off

This annual benefit for the Apalachicola Volunteer Fire Department features a silent auction, oysters galore, shrimp, smoked mullet, hot dogs, hamburgers, local beer, live music, kids’ activities, dancing performances, and a 5K run! Held in beautiful Riverfront Park in Historic Downtown Apalachicola, make plans to join in the fun at the light-hearted community celebration.

Butts & Clucks Cook-Off on the Bay

The Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce proudly presents Butts & Clucks Cook-Off on the Bay, a Florida BBQ Association-sanctioned event. With over $12,000 in cash and prizes, teams from all over the Southeast will be competing in 4 meat categories: chicken, ribs, pork butt, and brisket. Other awarded weekend contests include best in: BBQ sauce, Mystery Box Open, Deviled Eggs, and People’s Choice. Head out to Battery Park for a deliciously fun weekend at Battery Park in Apalachicola.
The Battle of Natural Bridge: History Program

The Carrabelle History Museum presents “The Battle of Natural Bridge”, a historical program exploring the little-known facts about the 1865 Union raid that led to the largest Civil War engagement in Florida’s Big Bend region. This program features award-winning historian Dale Cox, the author of “The Battle of Natural Bridge, Florida: The Confederate Defense of Tallahassee” and more than one dozen books on Southern history and culture.
Soup-er Celebration

The only thing better than talking about soup is eating it. The Friends of Franklin County Public Libraries will be hosting a Soup-er Celebration this month filled with scrumptious stews, seafood bisques, gumbos, chilli, and freshly baked artisan breads galore. The funds raised from the Souper Celebration help the Friends to support the Franklin County Public Libraries in Eastpoint and Carrabelle, Florida and their goals to provide informational, educational and cultural materials for the benefit of persons of all ages in the community.
